NANO
“the even tinier, more mysterious ‘Nanoworld’”

“Imagine the sun rising through the hairs on the back of a Flea ”
Beyond the 'Micro World' – there’s the even tinier, more mysterious ‘Nano World’ – the world that only Electron Microscopy can normally image.
Imagine the sun rising through the hairs on the back of a Flea: these shots will often mimic real world lighting, with raking low light to accentuate surface texture details.
These shots deploy a revolutionary Electron Microscopy Photogrammetry technique developed with Stefan Diller enabling camera moves around Nano 3D assets in unprecedented detail, but with the ability to fully recolor, and re-texture to create a life-like organic ‘living’ structure. Smaller CG elements will be embedded to bring these real scans to life.
We’ll ‘shoot’ ‘wide-and-close’ rather than using a shallow depth-of-field to play with the ambiguity of scale and echo our broader series lens choice.
And again we’ll light these tiny structures as if they were harshly lit celestial bodies floating in space – to bring visual unity to the whole VFX strategy. A color palette drawn from high-res scans of Mars and Pluto will help bring visual unity to our broader 'Cosmic Worlds'.
